3rd - 5th July 2020
We are looking for volunteers to help with various roles across the festival. You can combine making a positive contribution with trying out the many different events without having to buy a ticket. Volunteering also offers a great way to come to the festival on your own, and get to know people and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a really great event.
Beyond the Border 2020 will take place in Dinefwr Park, Carmarthenshire. This beautiful park is just on the doorstep of The Brecon Beacons National Park.
3 shift, one per day, total hours 16. Either Fri to Sun or Sat to Mon,
Job Description – Looking after the trader and craft areas, keeping tables tidy and clean, bins emptied and being a general presence in this area. On occasions, help may be needed to walk with the story telling walks to assist keeping everyone together and assisting the performer if required.
To meet, greet and assist with the artists and their guests and help any equipment they might have. Showing artists to dressing rooms/stages/performance areas. Keep hospitality area clean tidy and topped up.
(Please note, some of the venues will only need volunteers Saturday and Sunday so you may be required help on another team on the Friday)
3 shift, one per day, total hours 15.5
Job Description – A small team required to sell tickets, issue pre-paid tickets, and provide information. It is highly desirable to have welsh speakers working within the box office team but not essential. Excellent customer relations, computer and money handling skills are a must.
Monday 6th July 09:00-15:00 (in conjunction with two 5 hour shifts over the weekend in other areas of the festival)
Job Description – To help with dismantling fire lanes, site decoration, signage and packing equipment. To leave the site clean and tidy back to its original state. Manual handing will be required for this role.
3 shifts, one per day, total hours 15. Either Fri to Sun or Sat to Mon,
Job Description – To assist with customer arrival directing to the appropriate car parking areas, directing customers to the correct camping areas eg family, general, accessible. Keeping roadways/fire lanes clear in the car park/campsite. Parking camper vans in the correct area.
Wednesday 1st to Friday 3rd July
3 shifts, one per day 09:00-17:00 – total hours 24
Job Description – To set up the campsites, car park by using stake and tape to put in roadways and fire lanes. Place bins around the site, put up site decorations and signage. Place furniture in the various venues and any other jobs that may be required ready to welcome the customers. There will be a lot of manual handling in this role with longer hours than other teams.
3 shift, one per day, total hours 16. Either Fri to Sun or Sat to Mon (Please note, many of the venues will only need volunteers Saturday and Sunday so you may be required to join another team on the Friday or the breakdown team on Monday 6th to make up your hours.
Job Description - To assist with ticket checking on entrances to the various venues, knowing the evacuation procedures and acting accordingly in the event of an emergency. Keeping the venues and surrounding area clean and tidy. Re setting chairs before/after each event. Keeping isles and escape routs clear. Assisting the performers with their equipment if required.
3 shift, one per day, total hours 15
Job Description – To welcome and sign in other volunteers, keep good records of equipment taken out, issue ID badges. Keep welfare area topped up, clean and tidy (tea, coffee, biscuits ect) Excellent administration skills required.
